Too young to have Congestive Heart Failure...

Two years ago I was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. After numerous tests and trips to numerous doctors' offices, I'm still at a loss. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around it all. I'm not dealing very well with the fact that I have a very serious condition and a very very weak heart. My ejection fraction is 20-25%. What does that mean? It means my heart is only pumping out 20-25% of blood. A normal heart would pump out anywhere from 55 to 70%. Mine not so much. I've been hospitalized atleast 2 or 3 times due to CHF (congestive heart failure) but have been lucky enough to go home after each time. Because of those episodes... and the fact that there seems to be no huge change in the way my heart is performing I have been sent to an electrophysist (something like that). Anyways, he's the guy that checks you out to install one of those handy dandy devices called an ICD that's supposed to help out someone like me. How's all of that going... eh... it's going. I can go into more detail about that a lil' later. But for now... I just want to let you all know... that heart disease doesn't care if you're young or old... if your male or female... short or tall... it'll get ya... so take care of yourself. Oh... how did I get it? It was a viral infection... go figure.
